Death Toll Continues to Rise in Gaza as Bodies Are Recovered from the Rubble
The humanitarian crisis in the besieged Gaza Strip is worsening with each passing day as the death toll continues to rise. On Thursday, February 27, Anadolu Agency reported that 17 more bodies were recovered from the debris in Gaza. Since October 2023, Israeli airstrikes and military operations have killed 48,370 Palestinians. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 19 more people have been admitted to hospitals due to injuries, bringing the total number of wounded to 111,780. Many victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings, and rescue workers are struggling to reach them in time.
Ceasefire Fails to Stop the Humanitarian Tragedy
On January 19, 2024, a three-phase ceasefire agreement was implemented in Gaza. The deal includes prisoner exchanges, a permanent ceasefire, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
