Massive victory for City Amorim considers his team the worst in the club's history.

"City achieved a massive victory, but Amorim describes his team as the worst in the club's history."

Manchester United remained unbeaten in their last three matches. After a draw with Liverpool, they defeated Arsenal in the FA Cup and secured a victory over Southampton in the Premier League. However, on Sunday, the giants suffered a 1-3 defeat at home against Brighton. After the match, coach Ruben Amorim described his team as the worst in the club's history. In another match, Manchester City demolished Ipswich 6-0.

Under Amorim, United have lost four out of six matches at Old Trafford, marking the club's worst record since the 1893-94 season. Back then, the club, known as Newton Heath, lost six of their first 12 home games. Against Brighton, United managed only one shot on target out of 10 attempts, while the visitors scored three times from six shots on target.

The match began poorly for United, with Brighton midfielder Yankuba Minteh scoring in the 5th minute. Bruno Fernandes equalized for the hosts with a penalty in the 23rd minute, leaving the score 1-2 at halftime. Brighton extended their lead in the 60th minute through Kaoru Mitoma, and substitute Georginio Rutter sealed the victory with a goal in the 76th minute. The win marked Brighton's third consecutive Premier League victory at Old Trafford. In their last seven encounters with United, Brighton have won six times and lost just once.

After the disappointing loss, United coach Ruben Amorim commented, “Maybe we are the worst team in Manchester United’s history. I know you are looking for a headline, so here it is. We have to accept it and make changes. Imagine what it’s like for a United fan; now imagine what it’s like for me. A new coach is losing more than the previous one. I am aware of this.”

Meanwhile, Manchester City returned to their dominant form, thrashing Ipswich 6-0 and climbing back to fourth place in the points table under Pep Guardiola. At Portman Road, City were relentless, aiming 17 shots at Ipswich's goal, with nine on target. Phil Foden opened the scoring in the 27th minute, and both Foden and Mateo Kovacic added goals before halftime. Shortly after the break, Jeremy Doku scored another goal. Erling Haaland netted in the 57th minute, and James McAtee wrapped up the victory with the final goal.

Under Guardiola, City have scored six or more goals 13 times in the Premier League, with only Sir Alex Ferguson (14) ahead of him in this record.
